I’m Imogen and I’m honoured to be the President of Newcastle University Women in Engineering (NUWIE). I’m currently in my fifth year of a combined Environmental Engineering and Science degree and I’ve been part of NUWIE since 2021, serving in a range of roles over the years before stepping into this leadership position. Being involved in this society has been one of the most rewarding parts of my university experience. NUWIE plays a vital role in shaping the student journey - connecting women in engineering with industry, creating inclusive social spaces, and making a meaningful impact in the community. Leading NUWIE is a privilege, and I’m excited to continue building opportunities and advocating for our members."

I'm in my third-year of  Environmental Engineering at the University of Newcastle and joined the NUWiE executive team in 2022. I am interested in the mining and resources sector, particularly in the energy transition, and current and future impacts of mining on society and the environment. I hope to support and inspire fellow women in engineering, create opportunities for students to connect with industry, and promote pathways where technical knowledge can be applied to build a more sustainable and inclusive future.

I’m in my third year of Aerospace Systems Engineering. I am currently the treasurer of NUWiE and joined so I could provide more for the aero kiddies! We often get left behind so I bring a little bit of exposure. I’m really keen on anything that flies and love chatting about the etymology of words.

I am currently studying my PhD in Civil Engineering. I have a double degree in Civil Engineering/ Environmental Engineering from UON. I joined the NUWIE executive committee in 2023. I’m very passionate about structural engineering, material science and working to preserve existing and heritage / significant structures! I love being an executive with NUWIE, it broadens my network professionally but beyond that it provides me with irreplaceable connections. I’ve met the most incredible people in my role at NUWIE, some of which are my very close friends. Having this support network and the experience as a NUWIE executive has enhanced my career and my personal development!!!

I am currently in my final year of  Bachelor of Environmental Engineering. I joined the executive team in 2024, but I've been attending events since first year. I am passionate about finding sustainable solutions in the areas of water, energy, waste & construction. I hope to make connections, help other students and support the goals of the leadership team which I find to be admirable while having fun every now and again.

I’m a first-year Environmental Engineering/Science student at UON. I joined NUWiE this year to meet others in engineering, learn from mentors, and be part of the supportive community I’ve already experienced. I’m really passionate about sustainability and renewable energy right now — honestly, anything science-related gets me excited!

I am a second-year Software Engineering Student at the University of Newcastle and joined the NUWiE Executive Team in July of 2025. I am fascinated by the fields of  Human-Computer Interaction and Quantum Computing. 

I am excited to be a part of NUWiE as I hope to connect with more aspiring engineers.

I am studying Aerospace Systems Engineering, currently in 1st year. I joined NUWiE in August 2025.  I am interested in thermodynamics of aerospace vehicles, and hypersonic flight I hope to be able to show people how helpful the events held by NUWiE can be in networking and securing a job after university, and to improve my own networking skills (and to become a better event photographer!)
